Wholesale Jewelry MOQ and Samples: A Retail Buyer’s Checklist
Before you request a wholesale jewelry quote, find out what the minimum order quantity (MOQ) applies to. A minimum per finish or ring size affects your opening order differently from a minimum per style. A clear order brief lets the supplier explain which options can be combined and what a sample will cost.
Confirm which items count toward the minimum
List the style reference, finish, size and estimated quantity on separate lines. For example, if you want 12 rings in size 6 and 12 in size 7, ask whether the supplier treats that as 24 rings for one style or two lines of 12. Use the same approach for mixed finishes and confirm whether a reorder has a different minimum.
Ask what the sample represents
Specify whether you want a stock sample or one made in the finish, size and packaging you plan to order. Ask the supplier to list sample cost, shipping and estimated dispatch separately. When the sample arrives, record its reference, dimensions and any agreed changes so the order quote reflects the version you approved.
Copy this brief into your inquiry
- Order line: [style reference] · [size] · [finish] · [opening quantity and unit]. Enter earrings in pairs and necklaces, rings and bracelets in pieces. Repeat for each style or variant.
- Reorder: [estimated quantity]. Please confirm the minimum for an opening order and a reorder.
- Samples: [styles and quantities]. Please quote sample cost, shipping and estimated dispatch separately, and confirm [packaging requirements].
- Delivery: [city and country] · [target date].
- Mixed quantities: Can [sizes or finishes] count toward the same minimum? Please show how you calculate it.
Use the Aurelle catalog to build a shortlist, or start with the retail buying guide. Once you have the style references, request a wholesale quote and ask for the applicable minimums and sample terms.
